Processes
Process selection is critical to the success of a new composite development.
We work on the front end of the project with our clients to understand their product’s unique performance requirements:
- Weight
- Strength
- Stiffness
- Cosmetics
- Tolerances
- Operating environment
- Temperature
- Solvent exposure
- Water
- UV
- Fire, Smoke, Toxicity
Once we have a good understanding of performance requirements, we then evaluate manufacturing volume requirements and cost.
Process selection falls out from a design for manufacturing matrix from the criteria above and our expertise and background knowledge.
Bladder Molding
High pressure molding of thin walled complex parts.
Bladder Fabrication
We design and mold all of our own bladders to create some of the crazy shapes we make.
Resin Transfer Molding (RTM)
Lightweight surface with the ability to go from mold to paint without sanding.
TP/TS Compression Molding
Thermoplastic and thermoset prepreg compression molding, closed mold injection molding, and wet compression
